Notifications

πŸ“ Find this in the app: This page describes behavior, not a single settings screen. The notifications it covers are generated by Admin Panel β†’ Stables β†’ Communication (/admin/stables/communication), the Daily Care Feed, and Events/Lessons β€” there is no separate on/off switch beyond your phone's own notification permissions.

Equidentity keeps everyone in the loop through push notifications in the mobile app and a few emails. This page explains exactly who is notified, about what, and when - so there are no surprises.

How notifications are delivered

  • Push notifications appear on your phone through the Equidentity mobile app. You must be signed in to the app and have allowed notifications when prompted. Push is not sent to the website - only the app.
  • Emails are sent to the address on your account (or your stable's contact address for some admin summaries).

To keep things calm and avoid notification overload, most updates are bundled into a single daily summary rather than pinging you all day long.

What each role receives

Admins

Admins get one daily summary push at 07:00 covering everything that needs attention. The summary only arrives on days when there is something new, and it can include:

  • New contact requests from your website
  • New maintenance requests
  • New messages from members
  • Mares due to foal soon - the stable-wide list of mares roughly 20 days from foaling
  • Health reminders - vaccinations or farrier appointments coming up this week
  • Export documents that are expiring soon

Tap the notification to open the app and see the details.

Admins also receive some emails:

  • A weekly summary of new contact requests (Monday morning) to the stable's contact email address.

Members

Members get one daily summary push at 08:00 when their stable has posted something new:

  • New stable announcements - the notification is a short badge; open My Stable β†’ Announcements to read the full message.

Members are also pinged right away for things that are a direct response to them:

  • A reply to your message - when an admin answers a message you sent (My Stable β†’ Messages).
  • A resolved maintenance request - when a request you reported is marked resolved.
  • Lessons - a confirmation when you book, and a heads-up if the stable cancels your lesson or marks you as absent (no-show).
  • Reminders for your own horses - if one of your horses has a foaling coming up (~20 days out) or a vaccination / farrier appointment this week. The foaling date is taken from the mare's expected foaling date if one was entered, otherwise computed from her insemination date plus ~340 days of gestation. Owners are reminded about their own mare; admins get the whole stable's list in the 07:00 summary.

Members also receive emails for account and billing matters:

  • A welcome email to set your password when your account is created.
  • A password reset email when you request one.

Staff

Staff get one daily push at 06:00 with the number of tasks assigned to them on today's sheet - so you know your day before you open the app. Tap it to jump into the Staff view, where the full task list is always up to date. If you have no tasks on a given day, no notification is sent.

Turning notifications on

  1. Install the Equidentity app and sign in.
  2. When the app asks permission to send notifications, tap Allow.
  3. That's it - your device is registered automatically. If you ever miss the prompt, enable notifications for Equidentity in your phone's Settings.

Tip: Notifications are per-device. If you sign in on a new phone, allow notifications there too.
